Membership
Eligibility
Membership in the Association
is open to all former staff members and officails of the United Nations
and its subsidiary organs, the specialized agencies, the International
Atomic Energy Agency, and other organ or former organization of the
United Nations system as well as to former experts and consultants
in the United Nations System. Present staff members and officials
of any of these organizations, who wish to join in anticipation of
retirement, shall also be eligible for membership.

Type
of Membership and corresponding dues
Life
membership
is open to anyone who meets the criteria set out for membership membership
eligibility and who pays the life membership fee of 2000 Birr for professionals
and 1000 Birr for local professional and General Service Staff or Annual
fee of 200 and 100 Birr respectively.
Associate
Membership is available to those who have already become members
of other sister Organizations, subject to payment of annual dues set
at no more than one half of the rates established for full members.
Surviving
spouse of a member or Associate Member of the Association is
entitled to membership or associate membership of the Association for
as long as he or she continues to pay prescribed dues.
Honorary
Membership:- On the proposal
of the Executive Board, the Assembly of the Association may confer Honorary
Membership on individuals who have rendered meritorious service to the
Association or to the United Nations System. The sitting Executive Secretary
of UNECA is ex officio an Honorary Member .
Heads
of the UN system organizations represented in the country are ex-officio
Honorary Members of the AFICS Executive Board.

To join the
Association, request a membership application by calling 251-111-544
32 71/93 or call at the office located in the premises of UNECA. Alternatively,
download the membership application form and, mail the completed form
to AFICS/AA, P.O. Box 3005, Addis Ababa ETHIOPIA, or have it delivered
directly to the AFICS office in ECA.
